JOB SUMMARY: The System Administrator must have at least 5 years’ experience with increasing job responsibilities in supporting the technical needs of end-users with experience supporting users at remote sites and working from home. The System Administrator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining the office(s) LAN systems, complete preventative maintenance, upgrades and repairs of computers, servers, and network equipment. They will also evaluate office needs and escalate appropriate software and/or hardware requests to KBHIT management. The System Administrator should demonstrate an exceptional level of technical competency, the ability to learn new processes and adapt to KB Home IT and business-related processes. . The ability to work independently to manage and prioritize their time. The System Administrator should assume additional responsibilities and projects beyond IT job responsibilities to the benefit of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provides technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of computers, tablets, and other related software/hardware.
- Maintain office LAN systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of computers, servers, and network equipment.
- Perform Active Directory/Azure/Intune computer and user object administration.
- Coordinate software installations and upgrades with KBHIT management.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of computer and network assets.
- Evaluate the division’s equipment purchasing needs and collaborate with KBHIT management to create a division technology budget.
- Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when related to desktop and laptop computers.
- Evaluate and escalate appropriate software and hardware requests to KBHIT management based on field findings and best practices.
- Manage, resolve, and close assigned issues and requests within the ServiceNow IT ticketing systems.
- Performs necessary tasks for opening, relocating, and closing sales and construction offices in the field.
- Order, install and maintain Broadband connectivity.
- Install and manage network printers, print servers, and print queues.
- Organize and direct installation of new equipment.
- Travel to and from sales communities for technical support as needed.
- Coordinates warranty repair and other on-site service calls with outside vendors.
- Assist users with any computer-related and/or other electronic equipment issues, e.g., cellular phones, copiers, postage meters, scanners, or other technology as needed
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications/Licenses - High school degree or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Professional technical certification (i.e., MCSE, MCSA) is a plus.
Experience - Minimum 5 years of related work experience, preferably in a multisite environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Detailed knowledge of computer system concepts and principles, including computer hardware, software, and network and server technologies
- Advanced level of technical competency with the ability to learn and adapt to KBHIT and business-related processes.
- Includes working knowledge of the integration of IP networking and servers, with Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Azure, Intune, Windows Server, Windows 11, M365)
- Basic understanding of IP networks and network printing and SharePoint online to assist end users
- The ability to work independently.
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and prioritize tasks while managing multiple simultaneous projects.
- Strong customer service focus and attitude.
- Strong people skills, including the ability to manage various personalities and develop professional relationships.
- Strong verbal & written communication, and excellent listening skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Basic Understanding of SharePoint Online
Work Requirements - Work 8-hour days with flexibility for overtime when necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company.
- Reliable automobile transportation for travel to area sales communities and air travel out of state as required.
- The position is located on-site at a community in the south Seattle area. Location is to be determined. #LI-onsite
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: - Base Salary: The expected pay range for this position is $43.27-$48.08 per hour depending on experience
- Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
